4/25/2023 0 Comments Bad rad electric bike![]() Sensor errors usually don't randomly happen, they are generally seen after a bad accident or if the bike gets very damaged. If this sensor has a short/stops working you are likely to get a motor phase fault. Each bike motor has 2-3 sensors within it. The phase sensor is a sensor that communicates with the controller and tells the controller when to emit energy. If you have a motor phase fault, it'll be the zero and the one flashing. Motor Phase Fault - Pedal Assist 0 and 1 Flashing If the throttle is plugged in then and you’re still having this error displayed then you likely need a new throttle. The sensor can break if you crash your bike bad on the side of the throttle. This error code can also appear if the magnetic sensor within the throttle is broken. Follow the cord leaving the throttle down to its connection point and make sure it is plugged in. This error code happens when the throttle is not properly plugged in. If you have a throttle fault the pedal assist monitor #1 will be flashing. Throttle Fault on RadRunner - Pedal Assist 1 Flashing It’s likely the original controller that came with your RadRunner is defective. This error doesn’t normally happen, and the fix would be to contact Rad for a new controller. The controller is unable to properly receive what the battery is emitting. This is usually due to a malfunction in the controller. ![]() This usually happens when there is too high of a draw by the controller. If the light on the pedal assist 0 level is flashing then you have an “abnormal current” error. Abnormal Current on RadRunner - Pedal Assist 0 Flashing Let’s run through what error code means and what cryptic flash they give off. This LED section generally lights up to show the rider what pedal assist level the bike is at, but when one or more begin to flash then you have an error message. ![]() Transcribing the lights on the LED screen can be a bit like transcribing morse code at first, but we’re going to help you diagnose what’s really wrong if you have an error message.įirst thing’s first, you’ll know you have an error when one or more of the LED lights under the “pedal assist indicator” are blinking on your RadRunner. With no LCD screen to detail what may be wrong with your bike, the RadRunner uses flashing lights on the LED screen to describe what’s wrong. Error code identification on the RadRunner can be a bit tricky.
